Happy Pride friends! The most wonderful time of the queer year. We’re having a Pride special for the month of June here at Book of Grace HQ, and I wanted to let you know about it and ask for your support.
In the LGBTQ community, our rights as human beings are once again being threatened and stripped away by our ridiculous excuse for a government. It feels more imperative than ever to love and protect and support each other as hard as we can. Especially the most vulnerable of us, our queer youth.
I want to show our queer babes that they have elders who’ve been in this fight for a long, long time. And these small-minded, inept vanilla bigots don’t know who they’re fucking with. We will prevail, and we’ve got your back.
In that spirit, I’m donating $5 of every copy of Book of Grace sold in the month of June to Glisten (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network.) For over 30 years, Glisten has been dedicated to creating safe and respectful learning environments for youth of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, race, and abilities. I was a gay kid in the 80’s. I can’t tell you what a difference an organization like this would have made in my life.
Our queer babes are overflowing with a creative force that deserves protection and nurturance. I believe with my whole gay heart they will be the ones to lead us into a loving, inclusive, and beautiful future, but only if they’re not burdened with their own basic survival. We owe it to them to provide a safe, loving space to grow physically, emotionally, and mentally.
So, this month is a great time to pick up a copy of Book of Grace and support queer youth at the same time. Win win. Or if you’ve already purchased a copy, maybe get another to gift or share with your local library.
If finances are tight, I get it. I can’t stress enough how just talking about this book or any LGBTQ book on your socials and in your individual eco-systems helps us. Visibility and representation are everything. And please don’t forget to tag or email me so I can share it, too.
