Karlyn Pleasants · Found Feathers

Last week, summer invited us to begin living the conditions we spent spring creating. And today, in honor of that invitation, we take our next step.

We express. Because eventually, what is true within us begins asking to be lived beyond us.

Expression is where embodiment becomes visible. Not performance. Not perfection. Not becoming who we think others expect us to be. But allowing our outer lives to become increasingly congruent with our inner lives.

How we speak.

How we create.

How we relate.

How we design our homes.

How we spend our time.

And, how honestly we answer the question, “How are you?”

Everything becomes a form of expression.

I’ve shared before that one of the surprises of writing Found Feathers has been realizing I was unknowingly writing a blueprint for myself.

Sharing stories that organically extended an invitation weren’t just for my readers. Those invitations—to reflect, consider, act, and dive in—also became my own. The writing has challenged me to live what I write.

To notice when my life drifts out of alignment with my words and course-correct:

To become more honest.

More vulnerable.

More congruent.

In many ways, these weekly reflections have become a gentle form of accountability—not to perfection, but to authenticity. To walk my talk.

And perhaps that is what authentic expression really is.: not projecting an image, but reducing the distance between who we are becoming inside and how we are living outside.

Therefore, sometimes expression becomes less about finding our voice and more about trusting it. And perhaps that is one of the gifts of creating the conditions first. Because when we stop performing, expression no longer feels forced. It becomes inevitable.

Living deepens when expression becomes congruent.

Your Sacred Invitation this week is to express.

To notice where your life already reflects who you are becoming, and gently ask yourself:

What wants to be seen?

What wants to be spoken?

What wants to move through me?

Then allow one small part of your inner world to become visible. Not because you have to. But because it is already true.
