July Wrap-up

July in one word, what adjective would you use?

Me: hot
Yeah, I know, not the least bit original. But true is true, and since I’m not a hot weather sort of gal, well… I’m not too, too sorry to bid July adieu.

But, my hydrangeas have been going crazy, unlike the rest of my garden. I’ll call it a win.

I hope your July went well. Mine was busier than I’d hoped, but mainly in a good way.

When July began, I was diligently drafting Book 3 in my Camera Club Mysteries. And just as I reached the climax (my very favorite part!), I opened my email to find an attachment from my publisher. It was time to return to Book 2—Masked Intentions—to work on final edits. A quick gear shift, and I was back in the crisp autumn of Stonebridge, Vermont.

As I mentioned last month, July reading was all about armchair traveling. I went to Barcelona, Paris, Bordeaux, and the Scottish Islands. My favorite?

The Scottish Islands—definitely on my bucket list!

Sigh… I may have the only Labrador retriever who doesn’t like to swim. 😂 It’s all good.

I’m also still rambling my neighborhood with my camera, filling a memory card full of (pretty) weeds. There’s something therapeutic in catching wildflowers in the early morning sun.

I’ve truly been enjoying my 50mm lens—so much so that I haven’t been tempted to switch it out. But, I think it’s time to stretch my wings, just a bit.
