Jason Liu · Just in time

Let's do a quick recap of what the year looked like.

The year started relatively alone. You woke up, got into your car, and drove to McDonald's to have your first meal of the year.

You sat down and wrote the first article that meant something to you.

Met a girl, you went on dates, gifted each other books, and spent time at the spa while traveling. She went to New York with you, and she went to Mexico with you. It was a good time.

You also went to Mexico City. You were with your friends—Kelly and Pedram, Ray and Hana—and you spent a couple of days enjoying your time together before going to Mexico with Nikol.

You learned to kitesurf in the Dominican Republic and got burnt like a lobster while surfing. But it was a beautiful time. You learned where to stand and where to wake, and he took a good look at the water.

You spent a lot of time learning sales and marketing. You really learned how to grow your business.

We found our love for Taziki, Hummus, and Coca Cola.

We bought flowers and plane tickets, pastries and more plane tickets.

Steak tartare and fois gras.

In Mexico City, we spent so much time drinking mescal, laughing with friends, and exploring the city. So many face-times with someone else in Toronto.

Then you went to Cabo and met coworkers and friends. Do you understand what it meant to have a great wife.

Send the o1-visa came. You went to San Francisco for the AI summit. You met old friends like Hadayat. Sam Hall and Rick Burton. Sam Ching and Hamel, and Eugene.

Bigger company started reaching out.

You started to make a little bit more money.

When you came back to New York, you got some head shots done. They went to picnics in Central Park and went shopping. You picked up your stuff from your ex-girlfriend's place and came back to Toronto to see Nikol.

Chase froze your assets and you had no more money and you paid everyone from your personal account. You were left with $38 in a bank account. Trying to figure things out.

He flew business for the first time. He took Ivan to Omakase. He saw Thomas. He took people out to dinner. New friends. You tried robotic massages and Nicole met you in New York. Staying in the Ace Hotel. Got into Dover Street. He went to Tomi Jazz with Ray and Hana. Then you found out they broke up.

And that was just July. After spending a little bit more time in Toronto, you went back to New York for work. You dropped $5,000 at Yohji Yamamoto. He finally could wear his clothes for the first That was after the course was successful.

He had moved from $80,000 a month to $10,000 a month to try to make this course to work out. And it did. It was an investment that it was worth it. And it taught you a lot about what it meant to do business and what it meant to take big risks and spring for the fence.

Then you went to Vegas for ADCC and C.J.I and you saw incredible fights and history be made. After you wrap that up, you went to LA. To live by the rings once again.

Just had time there. You got tanned, saw friends, but you also got into a fight. Arguments spun up. It would ultimately lead you two to break up. After LA, you went to San Diego You went spearfishing and free diving. You saw a shark and caught no fish.

When you returned to NY, you met up with Nikol for what would be the last time. Jazz clubs, Celine shoes, and kidney stones. But you had to go to SF again for another flight for Dev Day.

By the time you got back to Toronto things were over,

You go talk to people in your high school and in your college. And in your college. And you pack your things. Move back to the States.

You want to try to get back to Astroplace? You meet somebody. You go on a couple of dates here or there, but nothing really sticks. You're not really interested in trauma bonding anymore. We're not really interested in just wasting money and wasting time.

Another haircut, another couple of dates. You see your friends, Hannah, Yolanda, Abby, Emily. You see everybody. You saw Steven!

You buy some more clothes. week, month in New York City, one more month in San Francisco and the new year will come.

You look at some new apartments, we meet a girl named Sasha, we meet a girl named... Sasha again. You teach another course, you have them under surgery, you meet new friends. Evie, Fanli, Lee, Henry. You see your old friends, Luke and Karina, and David. You go on more dates. You build up more courage. You start talking to strangers after meeting Rishi.

More dinners, more dinners, more dinners, more dinners. You go within, you go to design within reach, you ask for a 25% discount, you spend $20,000. Now you own everything that you talked about. You've owned, you own everything that you've ever wanted to own.

Yoji, Rick, Eames, Yanagi. You made a million dollars this year. I made 100 friends this year. You come back to New York for new years eve.

Watch a couple of movies, see a couple of friends, and share a couple of drinks. You get a haircut and grow a mustache

You wake up on January 1st, and you're still alone, eatting a mcdonalds mchicken
