Good morning, I’ll dig more into the “why” of this newsletter headline in our standard weekend edition (AI/Substack implementing sponsorships/owning my own work/etc.) But for now, an announcement:
Yesterday, I turned off the Substack paid tier to start a better, cheaper membership tier on my own site. Welcome to Supper Club!
For the longest time I have been trying to find a place where I could share my recipes ad-free, as well as share exclusive recipes, organization + grocery list tools, plus livestreams and community benefits. Substack, while great, is still evolving in terms of everything I wanted for a recipe platform.
That’s where Supper Club comes in, and it is so good!!!
Meaning if you were a monthly subscriber on Substack, your price just went down. If you were an annual subscriber, you get 1 free year of Supper Club starting today, and next year you’ll be notified of a renewed subscription at $35/year.
What happens to your payments and personal info: Nothing. All of your information has been seamlessly transferred via Stripe, the secure payment platform that both Substack and my new membership platform, Memberful, use.
If you were previously a paid tier member on Substack, click “Sign In” on the upper right hand corner of my site, enter your email and you will receive a code to set up a password.
This is the welcome video you’ll see when you sign in ^^
As soon as you log in, 100% of the ads will disappear. Ad-free browsing and faster loading times.
You will get an exclusive recipe every week, along with an archive of 75+ recipes that I’ve recently marked as Supper Club exclusives. You’ll see a red lock on the top right-hand corner of every recipe that is exclusively for Supper Club.
COLLECTIONS! My new favorite feature! Just like NYT Cooking, if you see a recipe you love on my site, you can save it in personalized collections. Think: “Baking for the Weekend” or “Lunches to Try.” From there you can populate your saved recipes into a weekly meal plan or grocery list.
Monthly livestreams. This is a new venture for me, but we are going to host monthly community cooking classes. We will send out an email the week before and you can sign up for them as you like.
If you were already in my paid tier, the only thing you will have to do is sign in. Click “Sign In” on the upper right hand side of my site, enter the email address you used to sign up for Substack and Supper Club will send you a link you can tap to sign in. This is also where you will select your password. From there, you’re all set with an ad-free site!
If you want to find your Collections in Supper Club, it’s at the top right-hand corner of my site.
If you want to join Supper Club (which, I think you should), that option is here.
My emails will still come through Substack, but all exclusive recipes, discounts, and updates will go through my website.
I’m really excited about this change, and please know I take your investment in my brand seriously. I appreciate your support so much.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if any issues come up. We just launched, so I want to know anything/everything.
Xoxo,
Justine
