My house is busy again. Shoes scattered every which way. Dishes accidentally thrown away(I’ll never understand not realizing you’re dropping a dinner plate into the garbage!). And we’re sharing cars, TVs, and all the food. Having my fav greek yogurt and raspberries disappear from the fridge is a small price to pay to have some of my people home for the summer.
To me summer is all about stolen moments and simple pleasures. And you know I’m a sucker for a good list and easily influenced by things other people love, so here you go…some of my fav things of late.
The Knicks - As a born and raised New Yorker, the Knicks have to top the list of things I’m loving lately. Alex said he didn’t even realize I was a fan. And he has a point. I’m a fan of collective joy and watching the Knicks win the series served a full plate of just that. Here’s to more things we can all get behind together to lift our spirits!
Knitting - I just finished the Flock Vest and am now working on the Super Simple Summer Sweater. Up next, maybe this? I’m thinking in off-white and pink. Thoughts?
Mahjong - I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m mildly obsessed with this game. When I play, I use my brain in new ways and it feels like a good thing…albeit exhausting! Apologies to all the friends I want to share my new found obsession with…it’s prob easier to just take me up on a lesson than having to listen to me blab about it.
Shark Flexstyle - Justin got me this thing for my birthday and I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do anything with it. But now I can add it to the list of things I can’t live without. My friend told me my hair has been looking very Breck Girl lately, and if that doesn’t remind you that I’m a Gen-Xer, I don’t know what will!
Books - I’ve read 30 books so far this year(go follow me on StoryGraph!). My three favorites so far are Into the Blue (I love an epic story of friendship. It gave Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow vibes), Yesteryear (controversial trad-wives? Say less. You don’t have to like a character for it to be a good book.), and Dolly All the Time (pure sunshine!). Bonus points…buy your books on bookshop.org and point the sale toward your favorite bookstore!
Greensea - I’ve been making some moves behind the scenes and have some exciting things coming. Until then, I’ve started a fun little Substack that will have all kinds of Greensea goodness in it. Go check out my first entry…it’s heavy on the satire.
Of course I’m also still loving all my usual things—Pilates and pickleball! Tell me something you’re loving right now!
xoxo,
julie
