Last year, I started writing The Housewives of Greensea Island as a serial novel right here on Substack. (Jump over here to see how it started). Once I decided the housewives were going to get their own book, I reworked the opening. Then, after writing a good portion of the manuscript, I realized I needed to shift from first person to third person and swap out one of the housewives for our beloved GG from the Ferry Tales books. Big changes that required a lot of rewriting.

It’s just another day with the foghorn blasting for the always late 5:45 ferryboat as it glides into Grays Bay. Oh, today is a little different because the sun came out and is now poised to slip behind The Brothers—the most prominent peaks of the Olympic Mountains.
