We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Hindi version of our Justice Definitions Project wiki! This marks a significant step towards making crucial legal information accessible to a wider audience in India.
Why Hindi?
As one of the most widely spoken languages in India, including Hindi is vital for our goal of creating a truly inclusive and multilingual resource. This launch allows more individuals, organisations, and policymakers to engage with diverse definitions and interpretations of justice in a language they are comfortable with.
What's Available?
The initial launch includes 30 translated legal definitions in Hindi. We're actively working on expanding the Hindi content with more terms, and ongoing discussions.

What are Edit-a-thons?
Think of them as community-powered content creation events focused on specific themes or areas within the Justice Definitions Project. Together with law schools and subject matter experts, we work on adding new definitions, clarifying existing ones, and enriching the discussions through edit-a-thons.

Justice in Action: Law Students Fuel Definition Building!
This past year alone, over 180 law students from Christ School of Law (Bengaluru), Saraswati Institute of Law (Palwal, NCR), National Law School of India University (Bengaluru), and St. Joseph’s College of Law (Bengaluru) have already made a significant impact!
Edit-a-thons at law schools led to over 40 entries that are peer-collaborated and subject matter experts-reviewed on the Justice Definitions Wiki within thematic areas of Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Law, Anti-Corruption and Public Accountability Law, Criminal Justice, and Intellectual Property Law.

…the way this project is structured is it takes complicated legal terms and concepts and tries to make it accessible to common people…translating complex ideas into a simple language and putting it forth in a systematic manner I think is a skill that we as lawyers need to learn. Simplify legal jargon because we really tend to get caught up in this legal speak as we do. So, I think this is a good project to pursue in that sense. It really makes you think about how you can simplify these and also the aspect of making law accessible to the common people. I think that's really a good objective of this project…a reason why students should sign on to something like this.
