FAR AWAY 2026 – Do's & Don'ts

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to FAR AWAY 2026!

We’re just a few days away from the hackathon, and we couldn’t be more excited to have you join us. Whether you’re participating online or offline, we want everyone to have an amazing experience while ensuring the event runs smoothly for everyone.

Please take a few minutes to read through the following guidelines.

For the next few days, we’ll be sharing important announcements through WhatsApp channels in addition to Slack.

If you are under 18 years of age, you will soon receive a Parent/Guardian Waiver Form.

This form must be completed and signed by your parent or legal guardian before you are allowed to participate in the event.

Please bring a printed copy of the wavier while coming to the event.

  • Carry your Aadhaar Card for identity verification (offline participants).

  • Carry your Student ID if you have one.

  • Keep checking your email, Slack, and WhatsApp channels for updates.

  • Be respectful to volunteers, mentors, judges, sponsors, university staff, and fellow participants.

  • Help other participants and maintain a collaborative environment.

  • Ask questions whenever you’re confused we’re here to help.

  • Keep your belongings safe.

  • Follow instructions given by the organizing team at all times.

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the venue.

  • Wear your participant badge whenever instructed.

  • Charge your devices before arriving and carry your chargers.

  • Network, learn, build, and most importantly—have fun!

  • Do not bring cars inside the campus unless explicitly permitted by the organizing team.

  • Do not enter restricted areas.

  • Do not damage university property or event equipment.

  • Do not use abusive, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language.

  • Do not harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate anyone.

  • Do not consume alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes, vapes, or any prohibited substances during the event.

  • Do not carry dangerous items, weapons, or fireworks.

  • Do not impersonate another participant or share your participant credentials.

  • Do not disrupt sessions, judging rounds, workshops, or ceremonies.

  • Do not litter please use the dustbins provided.

  • Do not leave your valuables unattended.

To ensure fairness for all participants:

  • Parents, mentors, teachers, coaches, friends, or visitors will not be allowed inside the campus.

  • Participants must work independently as per the hackathon rules.

  • Any external assistance during restricted periods may result in penalties or disqualification.

FAR AWAY is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone.

The event follows a strict Zero Tolerance Policy against:

  • Harassment of any kind

  • Bullying

  • Discrimination

  • Verbal abuse

  • Physical misconduct

  • Sexual harassment

  • Any behavior violating the principles of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Acts where applicable.

Any participant found violating these policies may face immediate removal from the event and further action as deemed appropriate by the organizers and host institution.

If you’re participating remotely:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection.

  • Join all meetings using the official links shared by the organizers.

  • Keep your camera and microphone ready if requested during judging or mentor sessions.

  • Be available during your allocated presentation slots.

  • Stay active in the dedicated Slack and WhatsApp channels throughout the event.

Winning is exciting but FAR AWAY is about much more than winning.

Create memories.
