This wonderful egalitarian woman, like billions of egalitarians, has values and aims that are the opposite of the billionaire rulers of Israel. Go here to see 500+ photos of more wonderful egalitarians in my postal zip code.
Pew research reports that as of May, 2026, 62% of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Israeli government, and only 32% a favorable view. It is this fact on which I base my assertion that “Israel has jumped the shark” (if you’re not familiar with this phrase, see it defined in this footnote1.)
The obvious cause for a majority of Americans’ now having an unfavorable (to put it mildly) view of the Israeli government is its undeniable and un-hidden genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Even more Americans, with even greater conviction, would be condemning the Israeli government if they knew the KEY FACT about Israeli violence that is still today censored, namely that this violence of many decades against Palestinians has never been for the purpose of making Israeli Jews safe and instead has been for the purpose of enabling Israeli billionaires to get away with severely economically oppressing and getting rich off of the Israeli Jewish working class, as I prove here and here and here.
AIPAC, the “Israel lobby,” used to be able to cow American politicians into supporting Israel by threatening to declare their refusal to do so to be antisemitism. That could only work back in the days when most Americans had a favorable view of the Israeli government. Now it doesn’t work anymore. Which is why New York City has a newly elected mayor today who declares that Israel’s leader, Netanyahu, is a “war criminal” who is committing “genocide”:
AIPAC tried to prevent mayor Mamdani from winning the election when he ran as an open strong critic of Israel. AIPAC’s failure shows that AIPAC has lost its power. Indeed, AIPAC’s support for a politician is today the kiss of death.
As a result of this sea change regarding Israel, the Republican Party is splitting into a pro-Israel and an anti-Israel part. The anti-Israel part is breaking away from the Trump pro-Israel part to form a new party under the leadership of people such as Tucker Carlson (with 21 million followers2), former Congressional Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie, and Joe Kent (former Trump national security official who resigned over Trump’s support for Israel.)
It is clearly good news that now more Americans have an unfavorable rather than a favorable view of the Israeli government. And if this fact ever results (by, say, Tucker Carlson’s new party gaining the presidency) in the U.S. government being ending its horrible support for Israel’s Zionist ethnic cleansing project, that would be wonderful.
At the same time, it is not a good thing at all that the billionaire class is working to ensure that opposition to Zionism takes the form not of a pro-working-class (egalitarian) movement but rather of a “blame the Jews” antisemitic movement that frames all Jews (rich or poor) as the enemy and never identifies the oppressive billionaire class as the enemy. I have written about this here (criticizing Tucker Carlson) and here (addressing American working class Jews.)
We egalitarians can and must do all we can to ensure that the righteous horror at Israeli Zionist genocide strengthens a movement to remove from power the actual class of people—an oppressive billionaire class—that created the Zionist movement before Israel existed. As I write about here, Zionist leaders during the Holocaust sabotaged efforts to rescue Jews from the Nazis because these efforts did not entail sending the rescued Jews to Palestine. The Zionist leaders sabotaged these rescue efforts because their aim was to have what they called “a state of their own” in Palestine, by which they really meant a working class of their own to oppress and get rich off of. This is the anti-Jewish-working-class key fact about Zionism. And related to this is the key fact that American billionaires have supported Zionism not because the Israel lobby forced them to (read why this a wrong theory here) but because Zionism has helped them to oppress the American working class, as this leaflet (PDF) from many years ago explains.
