Autism: The New Diagnosis Du Jour

John Rosemond · Parenting With Love and Leadership

Because ALL the diagnostic criteria in question are subjective (unquantifiable), no psychological diagnosis qualifies as scientific. Therefore, to repeat myself for the seven hundred and sixty-eighth time, psychology is a philosophy, period. It pretends to be a science and has successfully pulled it off for around a hundred years, but the public is slowly catching on.

The profession of psychology milked the diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for all it was worth. Largely because of my whistle-blowing, they’ve moved on. Their diagnosis du jour is now autism, or autism spectrum disorder, aka ASD. Second verse, same as the first.

I searched articles purporting to explain autism—etiology, diagnostic criteria and parameters, treatments, outcomes—and came up with NOTHING but canards pandered by people with, as we say in the South, “a dog in the hunt.” To be perfectly frank, the information being given to the public concerning autism/autism spectrum disorder is a pack of lies. The panderers are not sharing the current state of autism science, because the “science” of autism isn’t science at all; they are PURPOSEFULLY FABRICATING “JUST-SO” STORIES.

The new motto of the autism community (mostly comprised of parents and healthcare providers) is, “If you’ve seen one child with autism, you’ve seen one child with autism.”
