DNA, Range Reduction, and Apostrophes

The latest post is a brief note about how Bessel functions where used in discovering the structure of DNA.

Before that I wrote a couple posts about computing trig functions. You can’t just stick a number in a Taylor series, for numerous reasons given here. Instead you have to start with some sort of range reduction. This is difficult to do accurately and efficiently. However, there is a simple algorithm that’s better than naive range reduction, even if it’s not adequate in general.

I also wrote a brief post explaining the source of a bug in a program that shares files between my laptop and phone. When I type an apostrophe ' on my laptop, it becomes ’ on my phone. And when I type 's on my phone, it becomes 痴 on my laptop.
