46. VoidTokyo Vol. 10

I’m writing today to let you know that a new issue of my collective’s street photography magazine will be released next month. Tatsuo Suzuki, the collective’s founder, describes VoidTokyo Vol. 10 like this:

VoidTokyo was begun with a belief in the importance of photographing present-day Tokyo and presenting those photographs in print. Since April 2017, nine volumes have been published in the VoidTokyo zine series, with sales in over 40 countries.

The landmark 10th volume in the series, VoidTokyo Vol. 10, reprises the motto, “Perceiving the Void,” which inspired the inaugural issue. VoidTokyo’s photography is not just about capturing images of the streets, but about grasping that which is unique to the city. VoidTokyo returns to its roots.

My photographs in Volume 10 are from my series, 東京は花—Tokyo is Flowers. They include several photos that did not appear in my book, all thoughtfully laid out in a new sequence by editor Chihiro Kobayashi.

In addition, you’ll get fantastic new work by Tatsuo Suzuki and the rest of the VoidTokyo members, 112 pages in all. I’m particularly happy that this volume has more color photography than many of our past volumes. All of it is really, really strong.
