Fanatics is seeking a strategic, influential, and highly experienced communications leader to join its Global Communications Team as Director, Internal Communications. This role will be responsible for developing and leading the company’s internal communications strategy, driving employee engagement, executive communications, organizational change initiatives, and culture-building programs across a global workforce. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business leaders, helping shape and communicate enterprise priorities, business transformation efforts, and company culture. This individual will partner closely with leaders across Human Resources, Technology, Facilities, Corporate Communications, and other key functions to ensure employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with Fanatics’ vision, strategy, and values.

Duties: Develop and lead Fanatics’ global internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives, business priorities, and organizational culture. Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executive leadership, providing counsel on employee engagement, change management, organizational announcements, and business transformation initiatives. Lead communications planning and execution for major enterprise initiatives, including HR, technology, workplace, and operational transformations. Partner with Corporate Communications leadership to develop and execute executive visibility and thought leadership strategies, including media opportunities, speaking engagements, industry recognition programs, and strategic content development. Drive employee engagement through innovative communications channels, campaigns, events, and content strategies that foster connection, transparency, and alignment across the organization. Oversee internal communications channels and editorial strategy, including the company intranet, leadership communications, digital signage, and employee events.

Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Liberal Arts, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, including experience advising senior executives. Demonstrated success developing and leading enterprise-wide communications strategies within complex, matrixed organizations. Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders on sensitive, high-visibility communications matters. The position will support the development of sports marketing recommendations that are strategically aligned to client objectives, audience needs, and brand priorities. This role sits at the front end of the planning process, helping assess where sports can play a meaningful role within broader marketing strategies and ensuring opportunities are evaluated through both a strategic and business lens. This position is best suited for a candidate with a strong foundation in planning, partnerships, media, talent, or integrated marketing who is looking to deepen their experience in sports strategy. The role is less focused on day-to-day activation management and more focused on strategic alignment, opportunity evaluation, recommendation development, and cross-functional planning support. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders to turn business needs and marketplace complexity into clear, actionable recommendations.

Duties: Support the development of sports marketing strategies rooted in client business objectives, brand positioning, target audience behaviors, and marketplace opportunity. · Help determine the role sports can play within broader communications, media, and marketing plans. Translate client and internal briefs into clear strategic direction, including key planning considerations, evaluation criteria, and recommendation pathways. Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, POVs, opportunity assessments, and presentation materials used to guide internal and client decision-making. Help ensure sports recommendations are aligned to brand fit, audience relevance, and expected business impact before activation planning begins. Partner with internal strategy, marketing, partnership, account, and activation teams to ensure sports thinking is integrated early and effectively within the planning process. Help bring clarity and structure to planning conversations by identifying key considerations, surfacing relevant opportunities, and supporting recommendation development. Requirements: 3–5 years of relevant experience in sports marketing, media strategy, partnerships, sponsorship, integrated planning, or a related field. Strong interest in sports and a clear understanding of the role sports can play in broader brand and marketing strategy.
