“I once was beautiful, now I am myself”

I have a serious fetish for collected works. The various collected works of poets like Jorie Graham, Lucille Clifton, June Jordan, Ursula Le Guin and Patrick Rosal are some of my favorites. I have read and returned to The Complete Poems of Anne Sexton again and again. I find myself reaching for Anne when I need grounding. Anne reminds me that writing into one’s own “madness” can be powerful, productive, even necessary at times.

Below are some of my annotations over the years—some are new, others, I underlined many years ago. All of the prompts are new.
