Life can be hard. Each week, we don’t quite know what is coming at us. There can be big challenges, health struggle, loved ones in a tough time, finances, a difficult relationship, work discontent, house problems, all that without the state of the world. We all have struggles.
Remember that reticular activation system looking for evidence of what you believe!
Stick with me. It may not be apparent. But there is a seed, a gift.
What if, truly, if we honored the difficulty, there could be a seed planted of growth, possibility, fire for a new beginning.
Take a pause. Sit. Breathe. Arrive in this moment.
Now, I’d like you to pick something that’s hard for you right now. A struggle, a difficulty. What is taking up space in your mind as a challenge? What don’t you want to give struggle energy too? Notice yourself not resisting it.
Next, I’d like you to ask yourself a few questions:
What could be the good in this for me?
What could be my growth?
How could this be a stepping stone?
What could be the seed of possibility, benefit?
Notice what comes to mind, and journal/capture your insights. Come up with at least one possibility, no matter how hard it is. You are planting the seed of equal benefit.
Practice this favorite affirmation/mindset:
I make friends with hindrances and every obstacle becomes a stepping stone. Every-thing in the Universe, visible and invisible, is working to bring to me my own.
Florence Shinn
Don’t stop now with insights! Practice noticing “the equal seed of benefit” in the days and weeks ahead. Shifting your mindset will shift what you create and experience moving forward. Remember that.
This mindset is magic! Remember, mindset first, then action. Getting your mindset right paves the way for a different action, a different future. Getting the right belief will help you to see (remember the reticular activating system) new possibility.
I know that there are some challenges that look unfathomable to process. For example, I have a friend with stage 4 cancer. She is my hero. She is joining me to speak at the June 19th Love Your Life Retreat about how she is finding her seed in this incredibly difficult life passage.
Just a moment of stillness, to ask for a way to see the stepping stone in it all, can create a different future, rather than keeping you tangled up in struggle.
Let me know how it goes!
In gratitude,
Jill
