Press trip opportunity to Antarctica

Want to go to Antarctica?

There is an opportunity for two journalists or content creators to join a science expedition this December.

It’s a dreamy six-week trip (no shorter) visiting Rothera, King Edward Point and Bird Island research stations. It means getting the chance to see ship-based science as well as getting ashore at three of the five stations.

They want to work with journalists who:

• can help describe how Antarctica is changing rapidly, and explain why that matters to everyone

• can explain the role that Antarctica plays in understanding climate change

• will make content/share stories to audiences across different platforms

• are interested in talking to researchers about our research on penguins, seals and seabirds

• interested in reporting on stories from multiple science projects taking place on the impressive polar icebreaker

• can reach large audiences and make some noise about why polar research is important

They are looking to work with established journalists/content creators who can reach large audiences (circa over 1 m followers/readers/viewers). And you’ll need a commission.
