Not me.
Nope.
Not even close.
Or did I?
Allow me to rewind a bit.
You see, I joined a lucrative art challenge “30 Day Style Play” hosted by none other than the incredible team over at Make Art That Sells .
The rules were simple:
Follow the daily prompt and make something.
Play with style.
Post your artwork on Instagram using the hashtag #LillasStylePlay2025
Win a FREE Make Art That Sells course!
Easy, right?
Not so much, at least not #4.
In case this is the first time you’re hearing about the challenge, see the below daily prompts hand-picked by Lilla Rogers.
Day 1, A Nutella jar. At first, I thought about drawing -well, you know- a Nutella jar, obviously. However, I thought - “What would a winner draw?”
Neurons firing. Pew, Pew, Pew! Not sure what sounds neurons make when firing in the brain, but Pew feels right.
“Eureka! What If I drew not one, but two slices of bread?”
Hang in there…
“Each slice will have a generous spread of Nutella. But get this, they are each characters! We have Nut and Ella. Ggggg-Genius!”
I lost…
The winner drew a Nutella jar -Go figure…
There were actually 15 winners across the 30-Day challenge. I am very happy for them and shared my congratulatory sentiment.
I didn’t join the challenge to win - I joined because I wanted to create artwork. I wanted to play with style and just have fun.
Of course winning a free art course is pretty awesome, so is creating something from your imagination.
I’m like AI, but much dumber and slower. Give me a prompt and I will create something for you. It might not be perfect, but here’s the thing - who cares?
Do me a quick favor, scroll back to the top of this article and check out my crayon drawing of Day 25: A Vintage MG Convertible. Looks like a 4 year old made it, but people love it! I made it in 5min, and somehow it resonated with people.
I’ll call that a win.
I won’t bore you with 30 pieces of art, so I’ve curated my favorites for your absolute enjoyment.
Thanks for reading!
