Good morning! Just over a week until we are into another month and August will be upon us before we know it.
The ancient Celtic calendar considered August the beginning of autumn, but I am sticking with the meteorological calendar and staying in summer. September is a much more appropriate place to draw that line. Besides, I am not ready to let go yet. After six months of relentless rain, this summer has been the best one I can remember for a long time, it has been a balm for the soul. Morning walks on the beach, seeing the local seal that visits the harbour each morning and watching the children jump off the pier and swim to the pontoon. Summer really is the best.
This week’s things that brought me joy is a bit of a summer themed one, which just solidifies my feelings even more.
NURSERY DREAMS
I’m still not over lime-washed walls. There is such lovely light and movement in the finish that adds such depth to neutral spaces. Case in point this swoony nursery from Jersey Ice Cream Co.
SNACK IDEAS
I somehow always need new snack options for both myself and the bottomless-pitts that are my children. Hopefully this snack will fend off any more “Is there anything to eat?” questions.
THESE ARE THE DAYS
If ever a short clip captures a city in summer, it’s this one.
After the jump: Summer nights | They don’t make ‘em like they used to | Jellies and more…
