Good morning! I hope everyone is well rested, preferably still lying in bed, giving yourself a little time before the day’s demands begin.

There is a running joke in our family that we are all day-dreamers. Every single one of us. Always imagining grandiose versions of ourselves, planning what we would do if we won the lotto, inventing new career paths and business ventures on a near weekly basis. Always planning, scheming, moodboarding some entirely make-believe scenario.

It is honestly one of my favourite pastimes.

I don’t think other people do this as much as we do - do you? I’m sure some would view it as shallow or lacking in ambition of the real, actionable variety. But I find it genuinely cathartic. There is something so enjoyable about projecting a version of yourself into the future and giving it a goal to reach for. Whether you get there or not is beside the point, the point is to always be reaching.

Also, I am prone to blurting out “ I would make such a good rich person” which is exactly why I decided to do a round-up of beautiful items that enter my psyche on the daily but that won’t break the bank.

Shall we jump straight in?

  1. ON YOUR MARKS

Good aul’ M&S is having a serious moment right now with their homeware offering. There is a lot of goodness to ogle at, I could have frankly picked more, but narrowed it to 4 of the best right now.

Ruffle | Gingham | Ikat Towel | Wavy lampshade

  1. FRILLS A GO-GO

Sadly, none of my internal doors have a keyhole. This is a non-negotiable for the forever home, a dealbreaker of the highest order. I have many dealbreakers, which is probably why the forever home remains firmly in the future.

In the meantime, I could hang one of these lovely tassels from the door knobs and achieve something in the same spirit. Not quite the same thing. But lovely nonetheless.

East London Cloth
  1. BAGSY THIS

It is always when I run to the shop for a few bits for dinner that I forget my reusable bags. They are far too bulky for a handbag and too easy to forget. I am solving this problem once and for all with one or two of these Baggu bags, small enough to live in your bag permanently, strong enough to carry everything home.

  1. LIGHT IT UP

This raffia wall sconce is the perfect bedside companion. I went a long time without proper bedside lighting and it was only when I had them installed, did I realise how much brighter and less depressing my room was now that I have them.

After the jump; 5. Baby skin | 6. Pay my bills | 7. Morning sips | 8. Claws out | 9. Crown Jewels | 10. Little ones. To unlock the rest of this post, consider upgrading now to enjoy this and the entire happy mail archive. Come join the community…
