Okay, we’re technically in July. But June was genuinely packed and it deserves its flowers before we sprint the rest of the way to September. Let’s catch you up.
We announced Ellen Bernfeld.
Our newest virtual guest is Ellen Bernfeld, the singing voice of Pizzazz from Jem and the Holograms. The woman behind the baddest Misfit of them all is joining us virtually this September, and honestly? We are not calm about it. Ellen’s career goes way beyond Jem. She’s a NYC studio singer, songwriter, actress, commercial jingle vocalist, and she’s still making music completely on her own terms. She says she’s “delighted to be makin’ mischief with JemCon this September,” and we are just as delighted to have her.
We also announced Dina Al Rifai from The Loyal Subjects.
If you are a collector, you already know exactly who Dina is and you are already excited. Dina is a toy designer at The Loyal Subjects, the company behind some of the most incredible Jem collectibles in recent memory. Having her at JemCon means you get to talk directly to one of the people actually making the things you are obsessing over. We love that for all of us.
The fan fic contest is live.
We launched the JemCon 2026 fan fiction contest in June and the response has been really fun. If you haven’t entered yet, it’s still running. Details are on the website and we’ll have more updates soon.
Drag show update: almost gone.
A handful of tickets remain for the drag show, and once they’re sold they’re sold. If you’ve been on the fence, this is your sign to get off it.
We’re going to San Diego Comic Con this month.
Some of the JemCon team will be at SDCC in July alongside Samantha Newark and Britta Phillips. If you’re going to be there, come find us. It’s going to be a whole thing.
Okay. The shoes. We need to talk about the shoes.
We dropped three designs in the store and I have been waiting for the right moment to really go in on them. Low-top canvas sneakers with full art panels along the side, white soles, and three very specific vibes for three very specific kinds of fan. All $64.99. All available right now.
“Truly Outrageous” -- The Holograms Casual Sneakers
Hot pink with Jem and the Holograms energy from toe to heel. These are for the Hologram faithful. The art panel wraps the whole side of the shoe and they genuinely stop people in their tracks. Classic. Bright. Outrageous. Obviously.
“Our Songs Are Better” -- The Misfits Casual Sneakers
Bold green, Misfits branding front and center, and yes we are absolutely aware that this dropped the same month we announced the singing voice of Pizzazz herself is joining us in September. Was it planned? Maybe. Is it perfect either way? Yes.
“The Stingers Hit Town” -- The Stingers Casual Sneakers
Warm orange and yellow, Stingers energy all the way through. The Stingers don’t get nearly enough merch love and we are correcting that. These hit different. No apologies for that pun.
All three are in the store right now. Check your size before it’s gone.
The wishlist: because love sometimes looks like office supplies.
We have an Amazon wishlist full of the supplies and little things that actually make JemCon run. If you want to support the con but you’re all set on merch for now, the wishlist is a genuinely great way to pitch in. Everything on it gets used.
One more thing. We need your hands.
JemCon is entirely fan-run. That means it runs on people, specifically people like you. We are looking for on-site volunteers for the weekend of September 11-13 at the DoubleTree Bayside in San Diego. Even just an hour or two of your time makes a real difference. Many hands make less work, and there is something genuinely special about being part of the crew that makes this whole thing happen.
If you want to help out, drop a comment below or email us at jemconforever@gmail.com and we will get you sorted.
Two months out. Things are coming together in the most outrageous way. A lot more news is coming in July, and you are not going to want to miss it.
See you in September,
Roxy and the JemCon team
