I’ve talked about GLP-1s a zillion times on my podcast and on Substack. It almost doesn’t matter whether I’m interviewing a metabolic health expert or a comedian, somehow Ozempic, Wegovy or Zepbound comes up.
Eventually I felt like, okay, I’ve read the studies. I’ve talked to the experts. But I also want have the subjective experience of what it feels like to be on a GLP-1.
I decided to jump into my own petri dish and experiment with a very low dose of tirzepatide, which is the compound sold commercially as Zepbound.
I wasn’t doing this for weight loss. I was curious what it would do to my blood sugar regulation, because I’ve had issues there in the past. And I was also curious what it might do to some of my lipid markers, specifically LDL and ApoB, which are higher than I’d like. There is some data to suggest that tirzepatide can lower these markers.
