Late Night’s with Devils, Bitching, and Sighing Witches.

I watched Late Night with the Devil, and I enjoyed the 70’s retro feel of it. The subtle ramping up of suspense and the absolute batshit crazy ending that capped off the whole thing, left me with a really good feeling, despite it being serious horror movie, or as series as these things can be.

It’s not the first time I’ve encountered this strange reaction to a horror film, the other two times were, Witching Bitching (a Spanish film), the remake of Suspiria (I haven’t seen the original, shame on me know, at some point soon, I hope), and a few honorable mentions are: The Blair Witch Project, The Clover Field Films (although those you almost expect something weird now), and The Witch, although that one is very subtle.

All of these films were good for the most part, but those endings really elevated them, at least for me, there’s something about the feeling of the bizarre nature of how I felt the creators probably came to the conclusion to those films, of an oh F-it, let’s do something absolutely insane, it reminds me of something I heard Jim Henson saying about the Muppet show if they didn’t have a proper ending to a skit, either someone gets eaten or something gets blown up, and that’s how these endings strike me, and I have to say although I have yet to end one of my stories like this, one day will have to try it for the sake of making it make sense but no sense all at the same time. These films are fun, and I know I haven’t seen everything, so I have a question, help me out and suggest some horror films with some crazy endings, I need more movies to watch, the stranger the better.

A partnership that has blossomed into a creative journey spanning hundreds, if not thousands, of pages, I’m afraid to count.
