I’ve been really excited to share this news ever since we locked it down. There were so many places we thought we might approach about hosting the book launch party. The obvious choice was one of our favorite local bookstores. Then there are the bars and restaurants I’ve partnered with over the years, some of whom have some really slick A/V setups that would make for a fun integration of book and video into one location.
This is essentially what we did for the pre-launch party, hosting it at CAYO (with great success, thanks again to the team there for making it so fun!). But as we geared up for the real deal we realized we might need more space. And a venue that could really host a little show, much like the one from the pre-launch party. Combine video, audio, and good party vibes.
And then I thought, why not Point Éphémère? If you’re unfamiliar, Point Ephemere is a concert and event venue on the canal - as on the canal as you can get without falling in - shared with a pompier station. I’ve been for concerts and wine festivals. Why not launch a book there?
It’s exciting because, to me, hosting an event in a storied spot known only by locals feels very, very on brand. Parisians know it. If you don’t live here, this might be the first time you’ve ever heard of it. But let’s just say that I didn’t even think they’d take us seriously - I figured they’d be booked solid a year in advance.
Thankfully, they had an opening and were happy to take us on.
We’ll do a little walk through to plan things properly in the next few weeks, so you’ll get a preview in my vlog, but I wanted to make sure to let you know that if you’re in Paris on June 18th and you’re looking for a fun way to spend your evening, there will be no better spot than with us.
