WAR OVER REALITY, Part 2

Destructive Departure in Worldview Warfare is the first conscious strategic maneuver undertaken on the battlefield wherein realities contend for dominance in the Metapolemos. It articulates the operational logic of the war over reality. My formulation of Destructive Departure, which is conceptually integral to the Metapolemos, arose from a dissatisfaction with prevailing theories of ideological struggle. Whether in Marxist analyses of class conflict, liberal accounts of democratic competition, nationalist theories of civilizational contestation, or postmodern critiques of discourse, there remained an unexamined assumption that the combatants were operating within a common ontological framework. Even when two adversaries disagreed about values, institutions, economics, or political legitimacy, they generally continued to inhabit the same horizon of intelligibility. Their conflict concerned what should happen within a world rather than the constitution of the world itself. Yet the most transformative moments in history have never occurred within such a framework. They have occurred when the framework itself was shattered.
