Jasmin Soee · Life as a Design Process

Hello you 🤍

I just got back from vacation.

It was so amazing. So many beautiful experiences...

And now I’m simply taking a breath.

So is my family.

We’re taking naps. I’m writing, drinking coffee (lots of it!), lighting candles, and breathing deeply from my stomach.

I love life, and life loves me.

Loop it. Affirm it.

Today, I wanted to share a little tip with you about one way to create content your readers will actually love to read.

Please have a look at the picture below:

What does it show?

Well, it shows that the article I wrote called “The Art of Staying Visible on Substack - How to Spark and Keep Sparking the Substack Algorithm.” generated quite a lot of revenue.

What does that tell me?

It tells me this is a topic people genuinely want to read and learn more about.

Where can you find this information?

In your Substack dashboard under Growth and then New Revenue.

I prefer selecting All Time so I can get the full overview.

I also pay attention to other signals that tell me what my readers would love to read more about.

For example:

  • Engagement on my Notes.

  • The messages I receive.

  • The engagement (likes and comments) on my articles.

  • And lastly—and most importantly—the comments and direct messages people send me.

What do people keep asking you about?

What do they reach out to you for?

That’s how you know.

But please pay attention to this:

Don’t only write about the topics people ask for more of.

Stay authentic. Stay you.

Stay true to your content pillars and the promises you’ve made to your readers.

For example, I write about both Life Design and Substack growth and monetization.

I make sure to give both areas equal attention.

Otherwise, I’m no longer delivering on what I promised my readers.

Balance it out. 🤍

I’ve created a short Substack guide for you that I hope will bring you value and help you move in the right content direction—for you.

Here it is:

Before you write your next article, spend 10 minutes looking for patterns instead of ideas.

Ask yourself:

✓ Which articles have generated the most revenue?

✓ Which articles have the highest open rate?

✓ Which articles received the most comments?

✓ Which Notes sparked the most conversation?

✓ Which direct messages do you receive again and again?

✓ What do people thank you for?

✓ What questions do people keep asking?

Once you’ve answered those questions, look for the common thread.

That’s your clue.

Write more on the same topic—but from a different angle, with a new story, a fresh framework, or another practical lesson.

At the same time, remember this:

Your analytics are there to guide you—not to define you.

Keep writing about what lights you up.

Keep your content pillars balanced.

And keep creating the work you want to be known for.

The sweet spot is where your curiosity meets your readers’ interest.

That’s where your best content lives.
