If a Pilgrimage, a Women’s Circle, and the Travel Channel Had a Baby…

While I don’t have a punchline for you.. 😂 What I do have is the answer to the riddle — the Goddess Pilgrim.

True to my travel-loving nature, I was obsessed with the early programs on the Travel Channel like Lonely Planet, which featured Justine Shapiro and Ian Wright. It felt like you were traveling alongside them, watching them get lost, laugh, meet people, stay in uncomfortable places, eat weird food and the like.

You got to travel alongside them in a sense. Except that…

It always stayed on the surface of the journey. You never really knew the impact any particular place had on them. You never got the gritty, gorgeous, transformational behind-the-scenes of the experience.

It’s the same for me with travel magazines and books. You’re presented with a beautiful photo. A nice descriptor.

But what was happening behind that photo?

What was the photographer or writer really feeling?

What part of their internal geography was shifting as a result of this experience?

How did that place impact them?

But what if Justine had said something like…

“Tomorrow I’m going to the Temple of Demeter. What questions do you want me to take in?”

And then returned with a download of insights from Demeter, went live, and shared them with you and a group of others walking the path of the pilgrim with her.

Or what if Justine posted a photo like this but instead of just a caption that read “Here I am at the Temple of Hathor in Dendera,” it talked about the impact of standing in the temple, the feelings that arose, the energy that flowed through her, and the message the Goddess delivered?

What if there were opportunities to hear about the parts of the journey that were more tender and more sacred, the ones that catalyzed the greatest healing? The ones that broke her heart wide open?

And what if there was dedicated time to sit in sacred circle with other women, sharing shoulder-to-shoulder and heart-to-heart about topics that are getting stirred up over the course of the pilgrimage?

As the Goddess Pilgrim has been forming, I’ve come to realize that this is an experience and an opportunity for us to all walk this pilgrimage together.

It’s less like subscribing to a newsletter, and more like joining an interactive pilgrimage.

So maybe it is what really would happen if a pilgrimage, a women’s circle, and the travel channel had a baby.

I leave for Malta in two days! The pilgrimage is about to be underway, and I’m excited to be able to take this journey alongside you.
