A quick and late update for a quiet month.

I organised a social for Scottish Technology Club, bringing together folks from a number of meetups to network, relax and meet new people. I’m putting together a programme for GlasgowJS and EdinburghJS for September, October and November, with a further social in December. Keep an eye on the website for details

We enjoyed some family days out at the National Museum and making it down to Portobello in the sunshine for a fish-finger sandwich from Shrimp Wreck. Recommended.

I’ve been running a bit more this month. I’ve changed my strategy to have no two consecutive running days, in order to improve my back and achilees health. It seems to be working! Hazza is back running too, and we’ve enjoyed a few runs together. I’ve also managed another run with Pete, and checked out the fire damage near Arthurs Seat and the Craggs.

Reading

I’ve still been working my way through The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann, but also read When We Cease to Understand the World by Benjamín Labatut and Inside the Box by David Epstein.
