It takes a special kind of stupid to argue that the comedian who fantasised about anally raping Gina Rinehart is the victim of the joke.
And yet that’s exactly what Sydney Morning Herald columnist Jenna Price has argued in her column today.
Price writes that comedian - and I use that word with all the caution of a bomb disposal expert - Kate McGuinness is …
“ … currently on the receiving end of a massive bollocking from Gina Rinehart and her acolytes.”
Price tells readers that McGuinness “poked fun at” Australia’s richest woman.
It’s an interesting choice of words.
By now, most Australians are familiar with what this particular “poke” involved.
McGuinness encouraged people to poke “a stick up Gina Rinehart’s butthole” … and swirl it around until her innards resembled a sausage roll.
In the progressive lexicon, that is what we now call “poking fun”, apparently.
Price concedes that what McGuinness said was …
“ not funny in any way, shape or form.”
And how does Price know this?
Well, she ran it …
“ … past a few funsters in my life and they didn’t think it was funny, either.”
Well, thank God for the funsters …
