This post is long overdue.
I’m taking a sabbatical of unknown length.
For years, I’ve known the truth of Leo Tolstoy’s insightful observation: “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”
Sadly, I haven’t lived these words.
It is time I try.
I’ve written extensively on the importance of silence, meditation, and contemplation, but I haven’t yet experienced these things in the depth of my being.
Maybe I never will, but I must give it an earnest effort.
The truth is this: I have an inkling of my true nature, but I thirst to transform this “inkling” into a deep, inner knowing.
Will I succeed?
I have no idea.
At some point in a person’s life, one must find the courage to pursue truth not because finding it is guaranteed, but because it is worth pursuing even if you fall short.
The time has come for me to do this.
I sincerely thank you for your readership.
I’ll be back when–and if–I have something worthy of sharing.
