People ask me how I am, and I say there are good days and bad days, but there are many more good days than bad ones now.
Time is doing what everyone promises it will do. It is softening the sharpest edges. It is allowing ordinary life to creep back in. I can think of my mother without always feeling that sudden drop inside me.
But the same time that is healing me is also taking me further away from her.
