I love Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Like LOVE LOVE.

I began going in 2021 right when the world was beginning to open up after CoVid. It has always been insider knowledge that no one does Fashion Week quite like Copenhagen and I wanted to see it for myself. And one of the first show’s I was invited to was none other than their most beloved brand, MUNTHE. It’s thoughtful without trying too hard. It’s feminine without feeling precious. It’s modern, wearable, and unmistakably Scandinavian… but never predictable.

This past week I was able to sit down and chat with Naja Munthe, the founder and creative director of the brand. In an industry that’s constantly chasing the next trend, Naja has stayed remarkably true to her vision. She has built a global business while remaining deeply committed to craftsmanship, responsible production, and creating collections that women actually want to wear, not just photograph.

That kind of consistency is something I respect immensely.

We talked about how she started MUNTHE from the ground up, what it takes to lead an international fashion house, and why sustainability isn’t just a marketing buzzword, it’s a responsibility. We also spoke about something I think isn’t discussed enough: balancing motherhood with the demands of being a founder and creative director.
