As Charles Small and ISGAP have recently documented, we are at the half-way mark of the hundred-years war declared by Muslims who want the entire world to be Dar al-Islam in 1400 AH (1979 CE). For the first half of this century-long battle against democracies (1979-2028/1400-1450), the leadership in the West has not only failed to identify the enemy, but systematically taken positions that strengthen their enemy. This is particularly true of the information professions (academia, journalism, NGO researchers) whose output, when viewed from the perspective of those striving for a global Caliphate, get high grades for disseminating jihadi propaganda as reliable information to their target infidel audiences.

After 9-11, when Bin Laden claimed he was “the strong horse,” most, even those tracking this millennial ambition of world conquest, didn’t take him seriously. Anyone now paying attention (ISGAP) has to admit that at mid-way point, the own-goal West is the serious underdog, and the public discussion remarkably thin on the subject.

We propose, at this mid-point in this century-long jihad, to take stock, recognize our foe, how he sees us, and his tactics, assess our camp, its potential and its tactics, and develop a coordinated response. First and foremost, this means uniting an identity group that is still largely unconscious of its existence, namely, “infidels” or Arabic: kuffār. This is not an identity non-Muslims eagerly embrace – the derogatory Muslim term for us. And yet, there are at least 6 billion non-Muslims in the world in this category; and most have nothing to do with each other … except that we are all targets of the global Caliphate. They want to give us three choices: conversion, death, or submission. If we want to fight this mortal enemy, we should begin by gathering our forces and soberly assessing the situation.

Hence, we propose to establish Infidel Awareness Month every year from September 9^th to October 7^th. During that month, marked by the two most deadly attacks on Western democracies – Sept 11 2001 and Oct 7 2023 – we will focus on the global jihad against the infidel in Dar al Islam, in its many dimensions, and consider how those who treasure freedom can gather a coalition against these forces of theocracy and religious supremacism. The fight is not so much on the kinetic battlefield (where the West still wins easily), but in the cognitive theater of war, where words matter and we are losing badly).

We propose to open this portal in time for the next fifty years, until 2076 which will mark the 300^th anniversary of modern democracy and 1500 years since Muhammad went to Medina. May it no longer be necessary by then. We welcome participation by all who want to participate in this discussion. The first year, the topic: Victims of Jihad the world over… those who most feel the breath of the supremacist beast, many of whom do not know they are alone (80% of whom are Muslim). We devote each day to a topic; we welcome contributions to those discussions.
