Natalia Quintero Ochoa · how to wear it

Dear Reader,

Sharing my nine favorites from June, including two books (although the second wasn’t realllyy a favorite), a few summer outfits, and a handful of other finds. Hope you’re enjoying this summer, which seems to be flying by.

More soon!

All my best,
Natalia

  1. The Jenni Kayne Flynn cardigan in baby blue. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get whenever I wear this sweater. This shade of blue is universally flattering, but especially beautiful on brunettes. Wearing a medium for a slouchier fit.

  1. Filament Hair Mask. I know I’m not the only one who follows MALLY K. GOLDMAN. She’s one of my favorite people to get recommendations from because our styles (and lifestyles) feel so similar. One thing I noticed about Mally is that her hair always looks fabulous. So, after seeing her rave about this Filament hair mask on Stories, I checked out IN-STORY, and used the product consistently this month. I can’t tell you how smooth it’s made my hair. A lifesaver during the hotter months (I have wavy hair that gets frizzy in humidity). Already reordered a second bottle.

  1. My first read of June was On Earth As It Is Beneath, by Brazilian author Ana Paula Maia. I couldn’t put this book down. Maia’s pacing is incredible, and the story pulls you in from the very first pages. She has a remarkable ability to create a world that feels so vivid, you’ll think about it long after you’ve finished.

Enjoyed reading over lots of cups of tea last month during our stay at Heckfield Place.
  1. SoldOut.NYC Button-Up (worn two ways). A true closet staple. The fit is relaxed without feeling oversized.

  1. Oak Essentials Body Care Routine. I talk about these all the time, but these days, the Body Lotion + Body Butter combo is putting in overtime. Every single night after my shower, I’m ready for bed.

  1. Buck Mason Cashmere Polo. I featured this polo in the last outfit formulas letter because I know first-hand how great it is as an update to my usual jeans and a tshirt. Lightweight enough to wear in the hotter temps. Size up for a roomier fit.

Quick outfit pic in the Erewehon bathroom haha. Wearing the Buck Mason polo // old AGOLDE jeans.
  1. My second read of June was The Vegetarian by Han Kang. I went into this one with high expectations, but it ultimately wasn’t my favorite. I can appreciate what Kang set out to do, even if it didn’t fully resonate with me.

I always bring a book to doctor’s appointments to read while I wait.
  1. DONNI. Linen Pants. I can’t quit these linen pants — especially as the temps continue to rise in Los Angeles. They’re not opaque, but if you wear light colored underwear, you won’t have an issue. I wear them high up around my waist, or low-waisted, and both work.

  1. Koala Eco Dish Soap + Hand Wash. My whole house is stocked with Koala Eco products—from the dish soap (I always keep a refill under the sink) to the bathroom cleaner. I started buying them because I loved the way they smelled, and I’ve continued repurchasing them because they clean really well. The scents are fresh and subtle, and make everyday tasks like doing the dishes or wiping down the counters feel a little more enjoyable.
