Sup y’all,

I don’t have much of a monologue today, but I do have things to share with bits of commentary. So I’m going to do that.

One reason I follow Sonya on Twitter is for her followers. I estimate I disagree with approximately 12.12% of the tweets she shares, but I am 100% in for the responses those tweets get. And this one got me good:

Oftentimes, my politics (and you’ll be shocked to hear they lean quite liberal, I’m sure) are in direct conflict with my actions and general desires.

For instance, I think it’s abhorrent that Jeff Bezos spent I-forget-how-many billions on a yacht. I also think it is exactly what I would do if I was Jeff Bezos.

Hell, it wouldn’t be that hard to convince me to go bigger and spend more.

Over the weekend, I watched a bunch of folks tackle cows to vaccinate them.

I do not want to tackle cows. I harbor no fantasy of one day leaving my financial media job to become a rancher who gets farm boy strong.

But objectively, they are having way more daily fun than me. Lassoing cows and wrestling them to the ground WWE style is a good way to keep the blood pumping. Typing on this keyboard? Not so much.

I have a ton of kidney stones; therefore, I drink lots of water. But I am also lazy. And I don’t do a good job of refilling my water bottles.

So now I buy 24-packs of water for each room in my house, and a pack for my car, to make sure I am consistently hydrated.

And in a case of “when your politics don’t match your vibes,” I have accepted that I shall be dumping hundreds of plastic bottles into the ocean until I figure out a water bottle system that works just as conveniently, a travesty for the environment that I so desperately believe needs to be treated better.

Unfortunately for my politics and the environment, I also have a desperate need to not go into the emergency room in crippling pain.

Thank you for reading,

Holden
