I said:
When you smile for no reason at all, that is love,
When a melody plays as night falls, that is love.
When the world's beauty outshines its flaws, that is love,
When restlessness breaks past all laws, that is love.
When the heart feels a piercing pain,
And yearning is more than it can contain,
Yet the heart still smiles through the ache anew…
Know that this is true love, too.
When there's no hope of the beloved's grace,
When rivals stand blocking every space,
Yet the heart holds tight to a hopeful thread…
That is love, when the soul is led.
When every fault of theirs feels a prize,
When the heart refuses their memory to flies,
When the hunger to see them grows day and night,
When tears fall like rain and blur the sight,
When nights of separation drag on long,
When things go wrong and nothing is strong,
When nothing makes sense and you're lost in the dark…
Then realize,
Yes, this is love's true spark.
