⚾ The Biggest Opportunity in Youth Baseball Isn’t the Game

Billions of dollars in youth baseball—equipment, media, private equity—are all flowing toward one specific moment: game time.

GameChanger tracks it. Platforms stream it. Facilities are built for it.

That makes sense—games are visible and emotional. But by focusing only on the game, the industry is missing a massive piece of the pie.

With the ABS Challenge System arriving for the 2026 MLB season, the standard is set. At the elite level—MLB, D1, top high schools—the gap between practice and games is closed. TrackMan, Rapsodo, and Edgertronic measure everything from off-season bullpens to intra-squad games.

But these tools are expensive, complex, and designed for high-performance facilities.

They do not solve for the other 99%: amateur and youth baseball.

In youth baseball, the products that have scaled are entirely game-focused. GameChanger owns game day because that’s where the parent audience is.

But the vast majority of pitches are thrown outside of games:

  • Off-season bullpens

  • Pre-season practices

  • Scrimmages and drill work

This isn’t a niche; it’s the bulk of a player’s time and effort. Yet in these environments, there is no umpire, no consistency, and no feedback.

To get accurate ball and strike calls on a real field, outdoors, you currently need expensive, mounted hardware.

Until now.

HeyBLU brings a real-time strike zone to a single iPhone.

  • No hardware to mount

  • Works outdoors

  • Affordable and accessible

We are built specifically for the environments that other major players ignore: the bullpen, the practice field, the scrimmage.

This changes the shape of the product—and the business model.

Youth baseball doesn’t start with games. It starts months earlier.

Pre-season is when teams form, routines are set, and parents buy gear. They are replacing outgrown cleats, buying new pants, and hunting for the latest high-dollar bat. Most scaled products—like GameChanger—only reach parents once the season begins.

HeyBLU reaches them months earlier.

Because our product is used in practice, it becomes an embedded, week-over-week routine long before opening day. We capture a highly fragmented market at the exact moment they are making their biggest purchasing decisions for the upcoming season.

As we announced recently, our beta is officially live, and we are already seeing the thesis play out. We have 100+ signups, with initial users actively bringing HeyBLU into their bullpens and practices.

There is a massive amount of capital flowing into youth sports right now—all to make games better.

HeyBLU represents the parallel opportunity: making everything around the game measurable, accessible, and monetizable.

If you’re out on a field—whether it’s a bullpen, a scrimmage, or just throwing with your kid—we’d love for you to try it.

Welcome to HeyBLU.
