As a “Baby Boomer” growing up in the 1950’s I think back to what my parents and others would have considered the main points of the American Dream to be. As a kid back then I never gave any thought to what that would mean. But I believe that these points below would cover the primary items.
Get married, raise a family. (Marriage between a man and women was all I knew back then.)
Own your own home where you can raise that family. (Homes back then were more modest in size and style compared to newer homes today.)
Father works a good job to support the family so mom stays home to raise the children. (I never knew anyone using a Day Care for the kids. I do remember having a babysitter on occasion.)
Success was focused more on your family. Loving and supporting relationships within the home were, for most people that I knew, more important then money or positions.
The father would look to work for a company where he would have long-term job security.
Along with a good job would be the ability to not only purchase new items like cars, TV’s, appliances and other items but time and income to afford vacations as a family.
I asked Google “what was the American dream in the 1950s” and below is the response.
Notice this paragraph.
This version of the dream was not inclusive, primarily accessible to white men. Women and minorities were largely excluded from these opportunities and faced significant discrimination.
As I remember reading and seeing videos of factories in the USA during WWII, thousands of women were there working. And later, many stayed in the workforce where they helped provide for their families. Many single women began careers in businesses across the country.
We fought two World Wars and many others since those two. Some, we were told, were to defend the United States. In others, we were defending other countries. And in some… well, most people are still wondering why we are there.
For many years the enemies of the Freedom that we Americans love have been working silently behind the scenes planing to fundamentally change the USA and the American Dream.
Lately they are more out in the open with their plans. By the morning of November 5, 2025 they became even more obvious in the largest city in the United States.
In case you don’t know, the gentleman standing next to the Mayor Elect Mamdani is Alex Soros the son of George Soros. The Soros family doesn’t support the USA as it exists. In fact, George Soros has poured millions of dollars into organization like his Open Society Foundation which funds the Democratic Socialists of America and people like Mr. Mamdani. So which American Dream to you think that Alex Soros is so proud of?

We can get back to the original American Dream with God’s help. I believe that we are already in the midst of the Third Great Awakening in America. The uncovering of the evil in our own country and others around the world is part of us waking up.
It will first involve Christians who are willing to pray for God’s will do be done on earth as it is in heaven. We then need to be informed about where evil has already taken root and target those areas with our prayers.
And finally, we must remember that we are not against the people themselves but the power that is holding them captive to ungodly ideas and plans.
