Tired? Yeah, me too. Whether it’s not enough sleep, too much stress, chronic health conditions, the media, life in general, or the actions of folks who should really know better (both microcosm and macrocosm), there’s a lot to be tired about. Exhausted, even.
Exhaustion affects us all, and sometimes we can juggle life alongside it, and sometimes we can’t. And while it is important to recognise that there are different kinds of tiredness, it’s also vitally important to know that they are all valid, and they don’t need judgement nor justification. Therefore, when it hits, we need to remember to look after ourselves the best we can.
We started simply a few months back with colour magic. Today, I want to talk about the stone people — the crystals which we may turn to when we need a helping hand.
I recognise that not every Witch works with crystals, but many of us may have some tumblestones to hand, or have a favourite piece of jewellery containing a stone which gives us lift when we see and/or wear it.
For tiredness and exhaustion, it’s red, orange, and yellow crystals which can give you a much-needed boost — those crystals which resonate strongly with the element of Fire. Here are a few I particularly recommend:
Carnelian
An “old reliable”, carnelian is that courageous, confident ally when you need to infuse some action and motivation into your day. Currently readily available and relatively easy on the pocket, it is also good for regaining strength after illness or injury.
Citrine
Ever the optimist, citrine gives you that gentle boost of willpower and mental clarity when all else seems foggy. A great stone for creatives, it’s also an easily-obtainable option which also aids the metabolism, imagination, and any manifestation practices.
Garnet
My forever-favourite, and available in a variety of forms and colours, garnet is a stone of loyalty and commitment. Almadine garnet can aid healing from an injury, offering protection and enthusiasm. If you’re wearied by negativity or worries, almadine garnet can help soothe those away.
Honey Calcite
Gentle honey calcite supports strength, stamina, and perseverance. It encourages insightful action and clarity, and can help ward off drowsiness, whilst also offering a peaceful outlook. A little harder to find, but worth it if you need the gentleness of a banked fire, rather than a blaze.
Red Jasper
Earthy and fiery red jasper is a stabilising stone, encouraging vitality and endurance. Helpful when recovering from a physically-demanding task, illness, or injury, red jasper also steadies the energy fields and provides a firm foundation for any ongoing good health and stamina.
Tiger’s Eye
A favourite of many, tiger’s eye (in its golden variety) is a soothing balm to disappointment and discouragement. It can be used to overcome fatigue and encourage practical, physical action and strength. As a stone of balance, it can help to bring equilibrium to both body and mind.
