The View From the Climb

💚I’ve recently hit a six‑figure milestone on Amazon royalties alone, and it’s one of those wild moments that makes you stop and look back at the whole road behind you. I started posting on social media with a few poetry books, my first self-published novel (Remarkably Great), a cracked phone, and absolutely no plan. Just a hope that someone out there might read the words I kept trying to write. (I came up with a solid plan in 2016, thank goodness).😅

The rest of my income—audiobook deals and royalties, coaching, speaking engagements, bookstores—has been its own slow, steady climb. But this Amazon milestone felt different. Like a lantern flicking on in a part of my career I’ve been building for years. A small light saying: you’ve made it farther than you thought.

To celebrate, hubby ordered my favourite take‑in, we ate backyard cherries, fed the Jays and chipmunks, and split a local brew while the evening light softened around us. Just one of those sweet, relaxed moments that stays with you.

And this morning I’m over‑caffeinated, still in my PJ pants, and thinking about everyone who’s been here for me since I went indie in 2015: through every draft, detour, rebuild, and restart. You’ve been part of the climb, and part of the light, and I’m grateful in a way that doesn’t fit neatly into a few paragraphs.
