The Harkles Play at Philanthropy

When the Harkles dragged the faceless children to the Thanksgiving ‘kitchen’ photo shoot back in November 2025, rumours that the latest PR honcho (Meredith Maines) was preparing to leave were already circulating. Cue, a new nutty strategy— to make the faceless children part of the charity/business entity so everything can be written off as an expense!

The fact that ‘Archewell’ branded caps and aprons were used at the OBKLA Our Big Kitchen LA, suggests that it was a corporate event. Yes, another tax deduction under the guise of philanthropy, and the use of branded goods would prove this to the IRS. The donation for the ‘visit’ to OBKLA could be tax deductible and the fee for Eric Charbonneau (photographer) could be expensed to the Archewell Foundation while it was still operating. When you look at it in black and white it’s not exactly philanthropic, especially when the Harkles were in need of some positive PR after the Netflix trailer flop, the As ever goods not being stocked in Netflix shops, and the palaver over the Kardashian birthday photos.

No doubt, all involved had to sign an NDA, but one volunteer ignored it and told the press that the Harkles were only there for about 15 minutes to have photos taken. Whether or not that was accurate, the fact is that TW was prancing around with her hair down and swapping caps while allegedly helping to prepare food. The girl was treated to a new dress, and there was some messy hair fiddling with her hair down in some photos and then in a makeshift plait and cap in others. The whole farce of an outing was pure PR, and it was all tax deductible too. For those that aren’t bright enough to understand why TW’s appearance was for show rather than philanthropy, when you are handling food, long hair must be tied back securely and her hair was left down and dangling the entire time.

Around this time, Maines had obviously handed on her prerequisite 3 months notice already ( I suspect it was handed in after the Godmothers event at the end of October 2025) and the IRS had more than likely served a cease and desist notice on the foundation as they filed their ‘scrubbed’ 990 form on 18 November 2025. This meant that they had to start a new entity in order to transfer the funds, and apparently Archewell Philanthropies was born a few weeks later on 5 December 2025, when the domain was purchased and the trademark was applied for on 19 December 2025.

The same thing happened at Sussex Royal/MWX Foundation, where assets were transferred to Travalyst, when the former was liquidated. After all these years, that seems to be have been the only useful thing Travalyst has ever done for the Harkles. No one even bothers to try and figure out the point of Travalyst these days, and is only useful when Harold wants to bang on about climate change to rival his brother’s Earthshot project. It’s merely a vanity entity that is handy for asset transfer and some PR when needed.

The Archewell 990 form for 2024 was finally published about the same time as the new entity (19 December 2025) was announced, where it revealed more than $5 million in expenses, leaving a deficit of more than $2 million, and the news that 3 more staff (in addition to the dozen culled a few months ago) were being let go. At the time, it was suspected that this was because they couldn’t afford to pay the staff, and the accounts seem to quantify this. Surely people can’t be that dim as to give up a job to work for them when their track record for retaining staff is poor and is well documented in the media?

Maines could see the ship sinking and scarpered after a mere 9 months (started March 2025 and includes her notice period) taking with her Method Communications, the PR agency that she had hired to replace the staff she had sacked. Looks like Maines knew there was no Christmas bonus and didn’t bother to stick around to wait to see if one emerged. Given the financial status of the ‘charity’, those who rely on a good salary package to include pensions and healthcare should look elsewhere as I doubt the Harkles can afford to offer any half decent packages, and those with young families need a reliable healthcare plan. Reports claim another agency has been hired to replace Method Communications, but no name has been given, and who in their right mind would want them as clients? Another vague statement to try and save face?

Kruger Cowne (TW’s former agent) stated that they lost money through her activities, and Sunshine Sachs parted company with the Harkles, with rumours that their invoices had not been paid. The latter probably chose to cut their losses and didn’t pursue any legal avenues as the cult often discussed their payments from Sunshine Sachs on social media, as to how much they received for posts and most moaning that payments had been late and that they wouldn’t post again until payments had been made. While we know that social media posts, and followers can be purchased, a reputable agency won’t want to admit it in a court of law, or to chase payment for those sorts of services.

None of these actions were unexpected though. When the Archewell Foundation first began, (through US based readers) Archewell had been approached for the documents that were sent to the IRS to show there had been previous experience of charitable work in order to gain the status of a public charity, backdated to 17 April 2020. Usually, there needs to be 3 years of documented experience to gain the status, so any supporting documents needed to reflect this.

The reason we did this is because Sussex Royal/MWX Foundation never actually operated as a charity, set up on 1 July 2019 and filed for liquidation by 1 July 2020, even though they had been instructed to cease using Sussex Royal when they left the RF on 31 March 2020. Therefore, what documents did they use as evidence of experience in charity work, especially as they had the services of James Holt who had worked for The Royal Foundation? The query was to see whether the Harkles had used documents from The Royal Foundation as evidence of previous charity work, and whether they had sought permission from William and the then CEO (Jason Knauf) to do so. If not, then was the intention to mislead the IRS which could be considered fraudulent?

  • These documents are available to the public upon request, and several requests were made and some by registered delivery.

  • After waiting for a reply after 90 days (the latest request after a year in March 2023), as Archewell had failed to deliver the documents as requested, they were reported to the IRS for the breach.

  • The IRS also failed to respond, and a phone call was made, and eventually a reference number was given.

  • The IRS cannot investigate entities that have been operational for less than 3 years in order to audit the accounts to see if there is a pattern of irregularities.

  • The IRS still failed to investigate or follow up with the reference number.

  • A forensic accountant stated that if the IRS do not reply or contact you, it’s because the entity is under investigation and they cannot comment on ongoing cases.

Look back at The Tig, that began in May 2014 and closed in April 2017. That’s just under the 3 years required for the IRS to investigate, and TW had hired staff to run the website for her, but then most seemed to have been ‘let go’ after a number of months, probably through lack of pay. TW also ran The Tig shop for about a year, where items all contained affiliate links where commission would be earned. This was closed in 2016, before the end of the tax year (tax is payable for any commission payments), and the website was closed several months later.

Back to the present day, and the ‘scrubbed for public consumption’ 990 form doesn’t reveal too much but it’s clear that the foundation has been told it can no longer operate as it is, and thus Archewell Philanthropies has been set up to replace it. The funding from USAID ceased, and donations have been lacking, and by moving to a ‘new model’, it means that the Harkles can receive donations from political sources and others that some may deem questionable, and none of this needs to be made public.

I asked a forensic auditor to look at the Archewell accounts for their observations, but they can’t make a full assessment without all the receipts, and official paperwork on the new structure. They have based their comments on what information is publicly available at present.

Disclaimer: These are the opinions and observations of a forensic accountant based on what information is currently available in the public domain and may contain inaccuracies.

  • They have said a change of status is likely to be filed over Christmas and is costly, and has probably taken a while to plan.

  • If they received donations from political groups, they could have been seen as a foreign agent interfering with US politics given that they are using British titles which is why the charity was flagged among other non compliance issues.

  • There were ‘donations’ to a number of ‘charities’ prior to each entities year end,  so that surplus funds are never subject to tax and the principal balance is retained. It’s possible that donations were transferred to other Archewell entities, while apparently it is permissible to transfer interest from one entity to another.

  • Any taxable funds could be legally donated to the new entity to avoid tax.

  • The so called ‘fiscal sponsor’ rebranding model allows the organisation to work with less transparency and oversight by the IRS and the public, whilst permitting it to seek grants and donations from non U.S. Governments and politically affiliated entities and individuals. This could include questionable sponsors which could compromise the King by way of association.

  • The restructure will change the method in how donations are recorded and managed.  As a fiscal sponsor, it is Archewell Philanthropies which will handle the processing of contributions on behalf of other charitable initiatives, thereby reducing the need for multiple 501 (c) (3) entities.

  • What this means is that less information needs to be submitted to the IRS to comply with its regulations, but that the organisation remains fully ‘charitable’, tax deductible and IRS compliant, whilst ensuring that the donor contributions continue to qualify for tax deductions.

  • They may retain unlimited funds for their ‘mission-driven activities’ provided they can justify said retention as necessary for their goals.

  • 1) The new structure obscures financial practices from the IRS and the public.

    2) The new structure lawfully permits the award of grants and donations to be received from foreign government entities and NGOs.

    3) The new structure lawfully permits the award of grants and donations to political activists and lobbying groups.

    4) There is no requirement to award any amount of grant funding in any given year.

    5) The new structure essentially provides a legal tax avoidance structure.

From the start, most of us expected the Harkles would change the name of the charity at some point when the IRS got involved, and it seems to have been enforced and rushed, yet who would want to donate to their charity when it’s clear that a huge percentage of the funds go on staff wages and expenses? Their patrons and benefactors seem to be in hot water themselves (Tyler Perry) or have distanced themselves to save their own reputations.

Meanwhile, TW keeps making her soft-porn filter ‘tips n’ tricks’ videos, where she is clearly filming and editing the content herself as she is seen heading to the camera to switch it off. Her script is staid, unoriginal, and dangerous. I mean, advising people to leave a lit candle in an unattended guest bedroom is simply stupid. All candles state that they should not be left in an unattended room due to the risk of fire! There seems to be no cash for someone to film her, or if someone is filming her then they are quite frankly rubbish.

Somehow, I doubt Daddy Markle would be invited as a guest as the whole fiasco over TW sending a letter that had to be videoed being handed to Thomas Markle by a lawyer was ridiculous. As Darth Vader would say, the delusion is strong with this one as her PR said she couldn’t visit as security would cost millions. Seriously, who in the Philippines would even know who she was let alone care? If she really cared about her father then money would be no obstacle to see him. Perhaps the penny has finally dropped for Thomas, and that he must accept his youngest child simply doesn’t care and can’t be bothered to even call him as she’s too concerned about how everything looks.

Harold continues to try and keep up his royal status by using his title to make useless visits to anyone that will take him, the latest being a training centre for former convicts turned firefighters. No one bar People reported on it, and it seemed to serve zero purpose. If they were hoping for a donation from Archewell, then they’d better forget it as money seems tight. This comes after the media blackout at the realtor conference in Toronto (1 December 2025) where it looked as if Harold is accepting any paying gigs, followed by him being the ‘cheap entertainment’ at the British-American Business Council’s 65th Annual Christmas Luncheon in Santa Monica on 5 December 2025.

To top things off, Harold popped off for a spot of polo in Aspen and reverted to using ‘Harry Wales’. Didn’t TW tell him they are ‘Sussex’ now? Then there was the AI/photo shopped (take your pick) Christmas/holiday card and as ever, the faceless children are in the oddest poses.

A normal photo shows everyone together smiling at the camera, yet no one is even looking at the camera. The top of Harold’s head is missing, the boy appears to have double jointed legs and feet, the girl with messy hair has a new dress and shoes for a change, but what large feet she has for a 4 year old, and dressed as if she’s off to a birthday party while standing on a bridge! TW, as ever is wearing a see through dress with no lining or slip, and the Claw clasps the hands of the girl, who looks as if she is being told to stand still and not to look at the camera. Of course it could all be AI and none of it is real, especially as light surrounds the head of the girl, while TW’s head is next to her’s and there is no light around her head!

There will be more drama with Harold’s legal case against ANL when the trial begins 14 January 2026, and how many more Harkle staff will either resign or be let go due to a lack of funds? How will the Harkles survive off peddling watery spread, and overpriced wine? Only an complete idiot would buy the crap (sic) or cookie mix to make a plate of crepes or cookies for $15, when you can buy a packet mix of the same ingredients for less than a third of the price, and only fools would pay $70 for a candle with a scent they have never smelt.

For the Harkles, philanthropy is a business and a game, and they want to get paid for it because quite frankly, they have no other ‘skills’. With Sentebale no longer an option, the duo will seek vulnerable charities to attach themselves to under Archewell Philanthropies, but the question entities need to ask is whether accepting a donation is worth the bad PR that may ensue? Look at their ‘motto’ claiming you need to show up and do good. The irony is that TW has chosen not to ‘show up’ to visit her sick father in hospital, and that is hardly in the spirit of ‘doing good’. Nor is forcing a sick man to be filmed accepting a letter from a lawyer hoping that they will leak it so that TW can look like a victim. Only an unstable and deluded person would carry out such ludicrous acts, so perhaps TW is the one that needs to be in a hospital bed, but the kind that put their mentally sick and unstable patients in strait jackets?
