Happy new year!
I hope the holiday season treated you kindly, and that the colder, darker days are an invitation to rest and replenish. Despite the freezing cold we’ve been having here in Oxford, the brilliant sunshine has felt like such a gift (and today, snow!) to counterbalance the short days.
I thought I’d begin 2026 with another issue of DIGEST, my round up of things I’ve been loving, finding interesting, or want to share with you.
No big or heavier bits of writing, just some short snappy commentary.
This is where I’ll share info on upcoming teaching dates & courses, blogs/podcasts/other Substacks I’m loving, plus anything else that captures my eye/palate/attention.
If there’s ever anything you’re loving and you think I should share, please let me know!
Yoga & Teaching Bits
🫄🏻 The next running of my Pregnancy & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training starts this January (Saturday 17th), online via zoom. I’m so excited to be running this course again, and can’t wait to get started. If you (or anyone you know) are interested in joining, there is still time, feel free to pop me an email and we can chat.
🌝 My dearest Theo is running her ever-popular Leading Safe and Simple Yoga Nidras course, starting Wednesday 28 January, online via zoom. This was a course we dreamed up and initially ran under Nourish’s banner, but I’m so glad Theo is now running these herself - they always sold out!! Theo also has a book on Yoga Nidra coming out later this year, co-authored with Beverley Nolan (who also writes a wonderful Substack. You can get a peek at the book cover here.
🌹 If you are Oxford based, one of my graduates Lucie is running a monthly workshop course on Yoga Therapy for Menopause and Beyond. Lucie is a wonderfully sensitive, thoughtful and compassionate teacher, do check her our and follow her on Instagram @starlingyoga.ox
☀️ Last but not least, Amelia Wood (who contributed an incredible chapter for mine and Theo’s book) is running an online course in collaboration with SOAS Centre for Yoga Studies, on Power and Community in Yoga. I’m also a big fan of Amelia’s Substack (and instagram memes!).
Books, Bites & Other Bits
🐣 I’m currently halfway through The Nurture Revolution by Greer Kirshenbaum, and loving it. Truly a book I wish I had read whilst I was pregnant, and will be recommending to all the pregnant people and already-parents I know
🌸 My friend Elle is doing her doula training this year, and is writing some wonderful reflections on the book she is reading for the course. I am loving reading them and had to share.
🌻 If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I spending a lot of time down on my allotment at the moment, and getting seeds ready at home for the growing season ahead. I’ve loved dipping in and out of The Permaculture Garden by Huw Richards (who also has a great Youtube channel). And I’m also joining in with a chilli grow-along run by @helenlikesplants
And that’s it for this round up, I hope you found something to inspire or enjoy.
Harriet x
