I am always on the hunt for special pieces for my home and my closet and over time I have learned to be much more discerning when I shop. As I have gotten older I really only buy pieces that give me a butterfly giddy feeling - Stasher bags and the likes aside. You know the items you scroll past or flip through in a magazine that stop you in your tracks and you do a quick prayer that it doesn’t cost more than your monthly rent. I want to be surrounded by things that bring me joy on a daily basis even in the smallest of doses. These pieces don’t always have to be heirloom or expensive - something as simple as a new notepad works for me (just bought these).
I used to buy so much junk and waste so much money on things I had for two to three years tops because they were just filler. Those days are long gone and it feels so good to open a drawer or cabinet and love everything in it. I like to use my stuff - there is no saving for a special occasion especially with a pricier item. So now, I buy the pretty napkins and use the napkins for a random Tuesday dinner. I light the candle, I wear the fancy PJs and I truly have found it makes a difference in my day to day mood and mindset. It feels good to feel good and what we are interacting with and using daily can set that tone.
This is what is on my radar this week.
1. Silk Pajamas | 2.Jacquard Jacket | 3.Oval Dish | 4.Napkins | 5.Candle Sconce | 6.Gingham Jacket | 7.Striped Pitcher | 8. Lamp | 9. Basket Bag | 10.Plates | 11.Tomato Salt & Pepper | 12. My latest Flamingo Estate obsession - the Sappho Fig candle. The scent is so heavenly and different than other fig fragrances I have tried, almost sweeter. It doesn’t even need to be lit to make the room smell good!
