It’s high summer here in New England, with the hydrangeas blooming and jammed packed beaches. The weather this last week is truly what a New England summer is all about. Crisp, 60 degree mornings, and low 80’s throughout the day with the sun out and various cloud spectacles to give just enough relief.
I’ve been going to the cape each weekend enjoying one of my favorite places. I used to spend my college summers working at a beach club, which far surpassed my years lifeguarding at a pond in Connecticut. (Although I had the best of times with my friends there).
Even though its the height of summer, I find myself daydreaming of autumn, specifically autumn fashion. The boots and cozy sweaters, jackets, jackets, jackets. There’s something about fall fashion that is just intrinsically better than any other season. You can layer, it feels like outfits are actually full and complete. It takes a little more creativity, but well worth it in my book.
You’ve probably noticed this on my ShopMy. Oops. But I’m a true New Englander at heart, and my wardrobe will simply tell the same story. So why not share with you all?
My recent The Real Real searches have consisted of brown loafers and brown suede boots. I ended up finding a pair of Staud boots I’ve been eyeing for years now, on sale at Net-a-Porter. I could not be more excited to style these in the coming weeks. I’m also on the hunt for a long brown leather coat, as well as something patchwork. I recently rediscovered last year, my first ever Coach bag, curtesy of my grandparents for my 13th birthday. It’s blue, burgundy and brown patchwork, some of my favorite color combos. And that really just sparked some interest in me bringing back some of those fun embellishments to my wardrobe.
Let me know if you’d like to see my TRR tips, because I have to say, one of my biggest attributes in life is shopping, specifically vintage shopping. So many times people ask me about where something is from, you can assume it’s vintage, mostly from TRR.
July’s favorites are a mix of old and new, quite literally my favorite for anything fashion or interiors related.
