[Workshops] Feels like summer is officially here ☀️
You have been making so many beautiful resin trays lately — I absolutely love seeing all of the different color palettes, florals, and personal touches you bring to them. No two are ever the same, and that’s what makes them so special.
Snack Plates and Espresso Cups are back as well! We recently started displaying the espresso cups you’ve made on the shelves at Alana’s Coffee, and it’s become such a fun addition to the space. I can’t wait to hear how many customers try to buy them off the shelves 😉
There is also a new workshop launching on June 27th: Incense Holders 🪔 I’ve been wanting to offer this one for quite a while, and summer felt like the perfect time to finally bring it to life.
Modern Kintsugi continues to be one of the most meaningful experiences we offer—slower, more mindful, and always a little grounding. While it’s often viewed through the lens of finding beauty in broken pieces, I’ve also come to appreciate it as a sustainable practice and a reminder that repair can truly bring second life to a piece. Which brings me to exciting news: we’re partnering with Circular Library on Abbot Kinney, a community space centered around sustainable fashion and experiences! I couldn’t imagine a more fitting home for this workshop.
Looking ahead to summer, I’m excited to keep introducing new experiences. Staying creative and continuing to evolve is important to me as is core to HMVB 🎨

[HMVB Art] May has been a nice balance of wheel throwing and handbuilding in the studio. I love how different the two processes feel—wheel throwing is technical, rhythmic, and so satisfying when everything clicks, while handbuilding feels much freer, allowing for more organic shapes, texture, and plenty of imperfection.
This month I’ve been working on restocking some of the hand-painted cups that had been sold out, while also spending time experimenting with new forms and ideas for upcoming clay workshops. A lot of my favorite workshop concepts start this way: playing & testing 👩🏼🔬
On the resin side, I’ve been exploring combinations of wood, color, and mixed media elements. Lately I’ve found myself drawn to projects that tell a story—pieces that incorporate mementos, meaningful objects, photos, maps, or small reminders of a place or moment in time. I have a few ideas in the works that lean into memory, travel, and storytelling, and I’m excited to share more as they take shape ✨

May truly flew by.
Between prepping for and teaching workshops, spending time in the studio, catching up with friends in what already feels like full-on summer weather ☀️, and all of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into HMVB, it has been a very full month. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I feel incredibly grateful to get to live this busy, creative entrepreneur-artist life.
One exciting development this month is that I’m in the final stages of building out the HMVB team. I’ve met so many thoughtful and talented applicants, and I’m looking forward to bringing on additional support for events and teaching. My goal is to spend the summer training and refining our experiences so we’re ready for a busy holiday season ahead.
I’ve also been thinking a lot about balance. Lately, I’ve been trying to stick to a “week on, week off” rhythm for workshops. When I’m teaching, I want to be fully present for everyone who comes to create with us. But I’ve realized that creativity also needs space—time to experiment, wander, make mistakes, and follow new ideas. Separating those two modes has helped me show up more fully for both.
In July, I’ll be taking a quick trip to Europe to visit family, celebrate a wedding, and, as always, gather inspiration. Some of my favorite workshop ideas have come from travels, museums, markets, and small creative moments I stumble upon while exploring somewhere new. I have a feeling I’ll come back with plenty of ideas for the fall.
