[Workshops] November was the busiest month yet for HMVB, and my heart is so full. Whether you joined a workshop, sent a friend, booked a team event, followed along on Instagram, or subscribed to the newsletter — every little thing you do helps me share art and community with more people — it means the world 🤎
Resin workshops have been such a hit, and I’m already testing new ideas to bring you in 2026. We definitely started with one of the more advanced projects — the floral tray — but you’ve been absolutely crushing it! Resin is so much fun, and yes, it sometimes has a mind of its own, but that’s the magic of working with a medium like this: you show up with an open mind and let the creative process take you on a journey 🎨

The ornaments were such a hit last year — totally beginner-friendly and something that’ll last for many holidays to come. Join on Saturday 12/6 for holiday series with Café Gratitude!
☕️ Travel Mug Design 12/10
You’ve been loving the travel mugs I make (me too — I use mine almost every day!), so I decided to host a workshop where you can decorate your own. The shape is tricky to make for beginners, so I’ll be pre-making a variety for you to choose from and customize. A perfect piece to keep or gift 🎁 There will be lots of holiday underglaze designs to use if you are looking to get festive!

Create your own set of 4 winter-themed resin coasters — a fun, beginner-friendly way to play with florals, shimmer, holiday confetti and seasonal colors. A perfect little project to keep or gift this holiday season ❄️✨
This month I’m hosting at 401k Wine Bar and Alana’s Coffee Roasters in Venice for the first time — two of my favorite neighborhood gems. I love being able to create in spaces that feel warm and local, and I’m so grateful to the businesses partnering with me this season.

Also, mini vases have been my fav to make this month. I haven’t started selling them yet but I might next year as I am settling in on a couple of designs/shapes that feel very me.

I’ve been feeling so much gratitude lately for how much HMVB has grown — and it’s entirely because of you. This all started with a simple idea: that maybe some of us want to put our phones down, get our hands a little messy, and make art alongside friends and strangers. I never imagined just how many people would be into it.
Seeing it in action got me thinking about how little we get to truly play as adults — to show up without the pressure to perform, to try something new without expectations, and to be around strangers in a low-stress environment that actually sparks conversation. I could offer smaller, more advanced workshops or teach in a more restrictive step-by-step style where everyone makes the same thing… but that’s not what Handmade in Venice Beach is about. HMVB is about you — about the community we build together and the creativity that’s inspired when we are together.
I have a million new ideas but I’m trying to stay balanced and not sprint in every direction at once. So for now, the core workshops — open play, snack plates, modern Kintsugi, and resin trays — are here to stay, with fun new concepts sprinkled in each month. And I’m always excited to hear your ideas too.
On a personal note, this year has brought so much balance and happiness. As we wrap up 2025 (crazy!), I’ve been reflecting on where I am today — and it genuinely makes me so happy. I don’t think I was ever truly happy in corporate life, even though I had built a big career career in business and tech over years. Something never quite fit. Owning a business — even with all the uncertainty and challenges — has been a hundred times more fulfilling. And building a business rooted in art and community? Even better.
I’ve also felt incredibly supported by my family, friends, fellow small-business owners, and all of you who show up month after month. In 2026, all I want is to keep going — to keep sharing art, creating space for people to connect, and growing this community that means so much to me.
Thank you for being here and for making this community what it is. I hope to see you in a workshop soon — or just around the neighborhood. Until next month, keep creating and stay inspired 🤎
