If you’ve read First Down, you know that James calls Bex “princess” in a “I want to worship the ground you walk on” way. Which was delightful to write and still gives me warm fuzzies. In Yes, Chef, Jack calls Poppy “princess” from time to time too… but the vibe is more like “God, brat, seriously?” and “I can’t believe I’m so attracted to you and it makes me growly.” I’m obsessed with their grumpy/sunshine dynamic. It was SO much fun to write and so classic romcom in the best way.

I’m so excited. Also nervous. So, so nervous. She’s a mini doxie, sort of a birthday/celebration for me since I’m turning 30 in March (eep) and I love her already. I haven’t named her yet, but look how cute! I’m picking her up later this week <3

My parents ALSO got a mini doxie recently, and I hope they’ll be best friends. Here’s Finn, who is just the best boy ever:

It’s terrible (for now) but also fabulous (and magical) and while I love writing contemporary romance, it was fun to stretch my wings in another area (of romance, obviously). I’ve been teasing it badly and will continue to tease it until I’m allowed to say more xx

I’ve been trying my best to keep reading as much as possible, even with how busy things are. I’ve been getting more into audiobooks recently, which has definitely helped! If you’re looking for a new read, might I recommend:

• Love at First Sighting by Mallory Marlowe

  • I listened to this on audio and it was FABULOUS. The narrators did an amazing job! Mallory is so talented—her voice is fresh and fun and she’s great at writing action and romance together. This book involves an influencer and a Men in Black-esque agent working to uncover a conspiracy… possibly involving aliens. Plus, dual pov, delish dirty talk, and did I mention action?! I’m an action romcom fan all the way and this delivered.

• How to Sell a Romance by Alexa Martin

  • Alexa Martin is one of my favorite authors, hands down. I’ve loved her work since her OG football romance, Intercepted, and everything she’s done since has hit so well! This book is a true joy—Emerson, the FMC and narrator, is a total sweetheart and so funny, and her love interest, Luke, is hot single dad perfection. He’s a reporter trying to take down a MLM skincare brand, she’s the broke kindergarten teacher sucked into the company’s scheme, and of course she’s his daughter’s teacher. Perfection, everyone. Read it!

• The Wild Card by Stephanie Archer

  • I’m so proud of how far my friend Stephanie has come since the start of the Vancouver Storm series! The last installment, The Wild Card, released at the beginning of the month. It wraps up the series so perfectly! Plus, more single dad perfection with Coach Ward! I think this cover might be my favorite of the series, too:
