[pattern: Easy Flat Knit Baby Socks Pattern]

For a long time, I thought I needed to be working on something big.

A sweater. A blanket. A detailed pattern. Something that felt “worth it.”

But lately, I’ve stopped doing that.

And honestly… everything about knitting feels easier again.

I’ve been reaching for smaller projects.

The kind you can start without overthinking. The kind you don’t have to plan your whole week around.

Something you can pick up with your coffee… knit a few rows… and actually see progress right away.

It sounds simple, but it completely changes how it feels to sit down and knit.

No pressure. No second-guessing. Just… making something.

Right now, I keep rotating between three types of projects:

[pattern: Easy Plush Bee Knitting Pattern]

1. Flat-knit plushies
These have been my favorite lately. They’re soft, simple, and just really satisfying to make.

There’s something about turning a basic square into something you can actually hold that never gets old.

2. Baby knits
Quick, practical, and always a good idea to have on hand.

They’re small enough to finish fast, but still feel like a “real” project.

3. Simple wearables
Things you can actually use right now—like a lightweight scarf or an easy hat.

No complicated shaping. No stress. Just something clean and wearable.

Spring always shifts things a little.

You don’t want to be buried in a heavy, long-term project. But you still want something to make.

These smaller knits fit into that perfectly.

They’re:

  • easy to start

  • easy to finish

  • easy to come back to

And that’s what keeps you actually knitting.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the knitting—it’s figuring out what to make.

That’s why I keep everything really simple.

The printable versions are clean, ad-free, and easy to follow—especially when you just want to stay in the flow.

✨ And right now everything is Buy 2, Get 1 Free, which makes it really easy to grab a few at once.

This is the part I didn’t expect.

When I stopped forcing bigger projects… I actually started knitting more.

More finished pieces. More variety. More ideas.

And honestly, more enjoyment.

Because I wasn’t waiting for the “perfect time” to sit down and work on something complicated.

I was just… starting.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, or like you should be working on something bigger—

Try going smaller.

Pick something you can finish in a day or two.

Something you don’t have to think too much about.

Something that just feels easy.

Start there.

And if you end up making something, I’d love to see it.

Or just hear what you’re working on lately.

That’s kind of the best part of all of this.

Happy knitting!
