Hey, it’s Pam 🦋
RSVP Here for tomorrow’s workshop on how to pay down your debt and still have a life.
The last time we did a workshop about debt, student loans were a hot mess—the SAVE Plan had just been stuck in limbo by the courts—and over a year later, the SAVE Plan option has been eliminated entirely.
We are down to two repayment options - the standard repayment option (i.e. unaffordable for most borrowers) or a 30-year Repayment Assistance Plan.
CORRECTION!! Only PAYE and ICR are being eliminated, IBR will remain. (previously stated “All the other options (IBR, PAYE, or ICR) will be eliminated”) by July 1, 2028 for any existing borrowers on the plans.
During our Paperwork Parties, student loans were the #1 thing people checked on - whether it was deciding to consolidate, getting them out of default, filling out PSLF paperwork, or just literally looking at them for the first time in a year. It’s a huge stress for so many of us and it is as confusing and convoluted as it feels.
We’ll go over all the details in our workshop tomorrow, along with info on paying down credit card debt, raising your credit score, and really, come and derail us with all your credit and debt questions where Reddit didn’t give you a satisfactory answer.
Of course we’ll also do some interpersonal neurobiology work so you don’t let your debt define you. This system is designed to put you in debt, keep you in debt, and make you feel like it’s your fault.
We’re here to remind you that there is no such thing as financial mistakes - we were all doing the best we could with what we knew at the time. Period.
We hope you see you tomorrow at 1pm ET, RSVP here!
