SUPERMACRO CONTEXT (BTC/STOCKS/FOREX)
Recent US data continue to point to a resilient economy. ISM Manufacturing PMI surprised to the upside at 55.6 (vs. 54.0 expected), while ISM Services PMI came in at 54.1, slightly below expectations but still well above the 50 threshold that signals expansion. JOLTS Job Openings were a little lower than expected but remain consistent with a healthy labor market.
Looking ahead, Friday’s Non-Farm Payrolls report is expected to show 80,000 new jobs with the unemployment rate steady at 4.2%. Next week, the focus shifts to CPI inflation, where markets will look for further signs that price pressures are easing. These releases will be key in shaping expectations for the Federal Reserve’s next policy moves.
The input to the economy, oil, has now fully retraced the volatile upswing since the US-Iran war started, gearing up again. All-in-all oil remains in its long-term consolidation range.
Bitcoin is struggling with the lower trendline through the weekly closes, similar to the COVID dip and the 2022 bear market bottom. From an Elliott Wave perspective the major count remains that a wave (5) is still written in the stars, targeting the upper trendline at +-$400k.
